Visa Application Process:
Applicants from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Myanmar who are going to Latvia based on employment agreements can submit Long Stay (D) visa applications through VFS Global visa application centers in India and Sri Lanka.
All applicants from India and Sri Lanka applying for a Long Stay visa with the purpose ''employment in Latvia'' are subjected to visa support document verification with service provider Hello Verify India Private Limited.
Step by step guidelines, as well as document submission for verification. Please note that document verification should be done prior to visa application submission at the VFS Global Latvia. NB! Without Hello Verify transaction number, appointment for visa application submission at VFS WILL NOT is granted.
After visa support document verification submission with Hello Verify, applicants from India can submit Long Stay (D) visa application through VFS VACs in India, applicants from Sri Lanka - through VFS VAC in Colombo.
Applicants from Nepal, Maldives and Myanmar can submit Long Stay (D) visa application through VFS VACs in India.
Applicants from Bangladesh must submit Long Stay (D) visa application at the Embassy in person. Appointment must been booked only through the online appointment system.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR THE EMPLOYMENT LONG STAY (D) VISA FOR BANGLADESHI CITIZEN:
1. Passport:
Passport with a period of validity extending at least three months after the intended date of departure from Latvia or other Member State, and containing at least two blank pages. Copies of the identification pages and the pages that contain information about previously issued visas.
2. e-application form:
Long stay visa e-application form printed and signed by the applicant.
3. One photo:
(Size 35mm x 45 mm) must be taken during visa submission.
4. Invitation approved by the OCMA:
An invitation by applicant’s employer in Latvia that is approved by the OCMA has to be submitted. The invitation should be dated not later than 6 months prior to the application date.
5. Employment agreement:
A copy of a signed employment agreement has to be submitted along with the documents. If not applicable - original private bank account statement showing the movements during the last three months with balance confirmation letter from the bank duly stamped and signed by the bank; Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last three assessment years (please note that Form 26AS as well as Form 16/ 16 A has to be submitted along with ITR-V).
6. Proof of accommodation:
A copy of a proof of your intended residence in Latvia has to be submitted along with the documents.
7. Proof of the previous employment + ITRs:
Originals presented and copies of your prior employment proof (3 years of work experience) to be submitted. Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last three assessment years (please note that Form 26AS as well as Form 16/ 16 A has to be submitted along with ITR-V) – if not applicable then an alternative document should be submitted or an explanation why such document cannot be provided.
8. Proof of the previous education:
Originals presented and copies of your prior education diplomas and mark sheets have to be submitted. Education has to be obtained in the same field as planned employment.
9. Ticket reservation:
An air ticket reservation stating the intended entry to Schengen area must be submitted. Please note that the Embassy is not responsible for purchased tickets in case of the visa refusal.
10. Travel medical insurance:
Travel insurance to be valid for the whole Schengen area and covering the entire period of the intended visit (90 days). The minimum coverage of 42,600 EUR including the costs of urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment in case of an illness as well as medical transportation and repatriation in the event of death. Medical insurance policy can be obtained in applicant’s country of residence, or in any other country, or taken out by the inviting person. It is important that the insurance meets all the above requirements.
11. Visa fee:
Visa Fee of 60 EUR. NOTE! The Visa fee and service charges are non-refundable in case the visa is refused.
